The LANpoint PLUS is available with the Windows CE.NET 4.2 or the windows CE 5.0 OS and other options built-in.

The options are selected by specific characters in the model number format:

Model letter definitions

y specifies the OS and whether or not there is an "option board" installed. The option board provides two slots - a developer-accessible Compact Flash slot and a developer/user-accessible PCMCIA card slot:

y = 3: Windows CE.NET 4.2 & no option board installed

y = 4: Windows CE.NET 4.2 & PCMCIA/CF slot Internal Option Board installed

y = 5: Windows CE.NET 4.2 & PCMCIA/CF Internal Option Board installed. PCMCIA slot is populated with factory-installed IEEE802.11b/g radio

y = 6: Windows CE 5.0 & no option board installed

y = 7: Windows CE 5.0 & PCMCIA/CF slot Internal Option Board installed

y = 8: Windows CE 5.0 & PCMCIA/CF Internal Option Board installed. PCMCIA slot is populated with factory-installed IEEE802.11b/g radio

c specifies the color:

z = B: beige

z = G: gray

a specifies whether there is an option board installed or not:

a = 0: no (use where 'y' = 3 or 6)

a = 1: yes (use where 'y' = 4, 5, 7, or 8)
