Accounting Coordinator — As Accounting Coordinator, you will be a member of a small, dynamic accounting & finance team at an expanding agency. This role is responsible for supporting agency teams with day-to-day accounting, transactional processing, financial reporting, benefits compliance, analysis, and miscellaneous projects as needed. Ideal candidates have strong problem solving skills and come with a service mindset; you are always looking to support teammates and remove barriers to success in support of Instrument’s ongoing success.
What you’ll do

Manage all aspects of the accounts payable process in accordance with agency processes and policies; maintain vendor and contractor files, accurately code invoices, process and mail weekly checks, resolve all vendor discrepancies and reconcile vendor accounts

Basic general ledger work

Support in the preparation of yearly financial audit and other compliance audits/reviews

Administrative support with ERP implementation this fall

Process staff expense reports, including the reconciliation of corporate credit card data

Day to day administration of Instrument benefits, including medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, 401k plan, pension plan, life insurance, short and long term disability, and COBRA

Assist with open enrollment as well as the implementation and administration of benefits programs and other projects as required

Provide benefit data management and reporting for compliance purposes

Support the CFO and VP of Operations on special projects or reports as necessary

What you’ll bring

2-3 years of direct experience in accounting

A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, or commensurate experience

Proficiency in Excel and Google Docs

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong attention to detail

Proven experience operating with complete discretion

Ability to thrive in a fast pace and dynamic environment

Experience in Maconomy, Zenefits, and Expensify is a plus
