EDAS CE Quadrature Decoder/High-Speed Counter Module

The EDAS-2015M-1 Quadrature Decoder/Counter Module allows monitoring of high speed incremental shaft encoders, popular for tracking position in motion control and robotics applications. Signal conditioning and isolation are built-in. 

Connection are made through detachable screw terminal blocks on the bottom of the unit, and no external termination panels are required. The module will handle signals from 2 standard encoders at a maximum rate of 500 kHz.

Each encoder has two input signals, one for each of the two phases of the encoder. For applications that require generic up and down counting, the module can be optionally configured with software to provide one count input and one direction input for each channel. The counters have 32 bit resolution.

Each channel can be selected to work either in quadrature or up/down-counter operation. Each channel has four digital inputs and two digital outputs that provide counter control and status. 

The module can be configured by software for various modes of operation and therefore is extremely flexible for a large variety of applications.
