Design Director — You’re an experienced designer with a knack for problem-solving; obsessed with every detail of the craft. Your interest in the intersection of sport and fashion helps you play a key role in defining what goes into this brand’s unique style and voice. You can think high-level about the user experience and the content strategy required to deliver an elegant solution. At the same time, you have an ability to create premium digital experiences through interactive design, visual design, art direction, and prototyping. While you’re equal parts form and function, it’s not just your beautiful designs that you bring to the table, it’s also your ability to visually and verbally communicate concepts and strategy behind your work. As Design Director you are a visionary who mentors and inspires your team to be curious about solving complex problems on a daily basis.
What you’ll do

Fearlessly concept, iterate, prototype, and test in an effort to deliver strategic, elegant and simple design solutions

Establish the bar for design thinking and execution on your team, creating design guidelines and best practice processes.

Cultivate, guide and lead your team with a strong point of view and creative vision

Influence the design team with brave and inspired design solutions, inspiring them to push their thinking and skill levels to new heights

Analyze abstract concepts and compile insights that can be applied

Create and sustain positive relationships and collaborations across client and project teams

Produce engaging visual presentations for client work, internal projects, and business development pitches

Balance multiple project assignments or business challenges with a steady disposition

Communicate effectively and proactively across all audiences, from teams to clients; tell the story of your design in a way that is engaging for the audience and easy for them to follow your journey

Strong strategic thinking with awareness of the project lifecycle, necessary timelines, business challenges and team communication

What you’ll bring

8+ years relevant experience in visual design of digital products that have been released to the market

Experience in enterprise-level e-commerce on a premium retail brand, agency or in-house

Content strategy knowledge, with the ability to map user journeys across multiple touch-points

Deep knowledge and skills in design, typography, interaction, and photography

Fluency in current industry design and prototyping tools

An outstanding portfolio with details on your specific role and contribution

Passion for sports culture and understanding of its unique demands on its consumers

Strong collaboration, presentation, and prototyping skills
