As the Engineering Manager of Honeycomb, you are a strategic leader, balancing people’s talents, growth and interests with the staffing needs of our delivery teams–driving quality and efficiency ensuring that your shared services team is able to deliver with minimal friction and increased reliability. You know the strengths and talents of your people and are responsible for the resourcing and growth of a team of engineers across multiple projects. What You'll Do

  • Serve as the primary hiring manager for engineers and developers within your shared service team (technical leads and junior through senior developers), following the recruiting process from end to end; evaluating and interviewing candidates for technical and developer positions on your team.
  • Responsible for team resourcing and efficiency tracking; empower Staffing with resourcing knowledge and support.
  • Maintain an understanding of team and individual skills and proficiencies; providing insight to delivery teams and providing them with the appropriate casting for the projects at hand.
  • Stay connected to delivery team leaders throughout the delivery process; responding quickly and efficiently to needs for casting changes or adjustments; acting as a single point of casting for projects challenges and opportunities related to your members of your team.
  • Balance and prioritize casting and placement with an awareness and understanding of utilization of team members and adherence to billable time; managing the budget and staffing implications of the work, delivery timelines, and final execution.
  • Provide consultation for the Recruiting Team to develop and implement a strategy for proactive sourcing of candidates in order to build and maintain thriving, diverse pipelines of quality talent for various positions across all departments, both full-time and contract.
  • Work closely with delivery teams across the agency to manage annual talent acquisition planning, define current and future required skills and behaviors and identify/ pipeline both active and passive candidates
  • Responsible for facilitating team-wide meetings, providing direction, support, and feedback for the larger team based on gathered trends and insights from the agency, and sharing team information with the agency. This could include running post mortems on projects, understanding the efficiency of tool usage, and other quantifiable metrics around how projects are run at the agency across teams.
  • Manage team budget, monitor key performance indicators for utilization, and participate in business meetings with leadership.
  • Create and present team-related slides in company meetings.
  • Motivate and engage the larger team to produce the best possible product and result in alignment with the agency's culture.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in engineering, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
  • Partnership: Demonstrated ability to quickly instill confidence, both with a client and internal teams, with a track record of partnership and influence with senior management

Pay Range

  • The expected pay range for this position is $135,000-$160,000 for our base US Region 3*. We have three regional pay ranges that are adjusted for cost of living (US1 +15%, US2 +7.5%, US3 Base), *learn more about our pay philosophy and cost of living adjustments.
