Human Development Lead —

As a Human Development Lead, you will work directly with the humans at Instrument and the Leadership Team to provide support, develop and retain the best possible team of employees in our industry. You are acutely aware of human nature and how to nurture those needs in the workplace, providing a safe yet action oriented space for people to feel taken care of and grow.

What You’ll Do

  • Work closely with our humans to develop a trusting, thoughtful relationship with them - a foundation from which career management and progression can grow.
  • Provide thoughtful mentorship and coaching to our humans, communicating in an honest and straightforward manner.
  • Work with Director of Human Development to ensure competencies, tools of performance measurement and expectations are applied equitably for all of our humans.
  • Consistently analyze areas of need for additional training or internal programming within disciplines, levels or company-wide.
  • Partner regularly with Discipline Leads (VPs) to bring trainings and internal programming to fruition - based solely in your identification of need-based opportunities.
  • Help Human Development continue to evolve, remaining thoughtful and effective in change management of new programs and systems for the company.
  • Focus on solving conflict by confronting negative behavior, encouraging the expression of differing viewpoints, identifying and discussing underlying issues, and developing appropriate solutions for resolution.
  • Operate with the utmost professionalism and confidentiality, knowing that you are the trusted advisor to many in the office.
  • Track and monitor compensation adjustment cadence and trajectory, alongside the Discipline Leads and Director of Human Development, for a holistic career management understanding.

What You’ll Bring

  • At least 5+ years of experience in a role that works directly with people: management, human resources, mentorship, coaching, talent management, etc.
  • Motivating and coaching mindset
  • Easily connects with others, building relationships and relating to others while building credibility and rapport.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to guide and participate in a wide range of conversations/interactions, pushing them into productive places
  • Strong understanding of professional boundaries and confidentiality
  • Experience with change management on a large scale, or deep understanding of the functionality of change management on a large scale
  • Strong ability to read a room, understand energy contributions and shift it as needed for productivity
  • Ability to maintain composure even under ambiguous or stressful circumstances, demonstrating emotions appropriate to the situation.
