Mercury

Traditional banks weren’t built for startups. Mercury is. It gives founders more clarity, more control, and more ways to grow. We partnered with them on a campaign strategy & toolkit to draw a clear line between old-school banking and what comes next.

What if we could change the perception of what “banking” means?

Banking Made for the Speed of Startups

Mercury was created out of frustration with outdated, clunky systems that made banking and other business-critical tools unnecessarily complex. Instead of empowering entrepreneurs, these products often felt designed to slow them down.

Mercury was founded with a different belief: that ambitious companies deserve better—tools built with technology at their core, every detail rooted in customer needs, and designed to help businesses operate at their best. Rather than trying to fix traditional banking, Mercury reimagined it from the ground up.

More than Banking

Our campaign, More than Banking, set out to make it clear that Mercury is not a bank, and that’s by design. It’s something new: a balance of art and science and offers more order and clarity, more opportunities to scale, more programs and perks that get startups to the next level, more efficiency, more community. Whether startups are bootstrapped, backed, or in charge of finances, they won’t be able to get all that from a bank.

To bring our concept to life visually, we put the fusion of art, science, and finance that’s at the core of Mercury front and center—showcasing precision, scalability, and elegance in a way that feels timeless and unmistakable. Instead of leaning into industry tropes, we traded the cold, transactional feel of traditional banking for warmth, care, and intention—using refined typography, elevated still life photography, and structured grids that ground us in technical precision.

Partners that actually feel like part of your team are hard to come by, but that’s what we found in Instrument. From early strategy sessions to the final shoot, we were together every step of the way. They don’t just say they collaborate, they really do. And it made all the difference in bringing our story to life.

Beyond the Launch

To launch the campaign, we focused on high-impact channels—OOH placements in key markets, podcast integrations, newsletters, and a digital display system that met founders where they already spend time.

But we didn’t stop at launch. We built a brand book capturing a flexible campaign system—designed to stretch across touch-points and evolve over time. The result? Not just a moment, but a lasting brand presence built to grow with Mercury’s audience.
